The idea of Whoa, Man! was conceived in 2015, when four gals got together and realized they were so busy being entrepreneurs, artists, students, mothers, community leaders, and volunteers, that they forgot how good it felt to get together and play some rock-n-roll!
After some magical basement practice sessions, the music was happening! Sadly, but with hope, some of us went on to chase other dreams with our special gifts and talents. Some of us had too many balls in the air and were not very good at juggling. All of us were heartbroken to say goodbye to the idea of taking the stage together as strong women comrades, united by our love for music.
2019
Two of us paired up again after both suffering a nasty music break up in a different group. (We hear that happens in rock-n-roll.) We decided it was time to reignite some music-induced positivity and empowerment elsewhere! We gathered a couple more talented gals, and invited a few fellas along for the musical endeavor.
“Let’s call ourselves ‘Whoa, Man!’ with an exclamation point!”
Little did we know how quickly we would gain momentum! The shows grew, as did the number of fans!

Turns out, people LOVE women who rock, and love to see us feeling the music as much as they do!

From “Edge of Seventeen” to “I Feel the Earth Move” we get chills, every time, and everyone in the room can sense that this is a special group.
Sure, we like to see the number of likes on our Facebook page grow, but what we love most is being able to share the joy of music with our live audiences across the midwest, as we celebrate so many of our female music heroes!
Come see us in 2023! https://whoamanband.com/shows-2/
